VOSA VEHICLE

IMPOUNDING 

A goods vehicle illegally operated without an operators licence can be detained and impounded.  

You have 21 days to apply for the return of the vehicle after which it will be scrapped or sold. 

An application must be made to the Traffic Commissioner.  Grounds for applying for the return of the vehicle are limited and include :

• You had a valid operators licence

• You did not know the vehicle was used illegally

• The vehicle was being used legally

Your case will be heard at a special hearing.
